About the role

Brymad Truck Transmissions is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Apprentice Parts Interpreter to join our team in Rocklea, QLD. This is a full-time apprenticeship prospect designed to launch your career in the automotive trades industry, specifically within truck transmission parts and supply. In this role, you will work alongside experienced professionals to develop expertise in identifying, interpreting and supplying the correct transmission components for our customers. This position offers valuable hands-on training and mentorship as you progress through your apprenticeship, building a foundation for a rewarding career in automotive parts and service.

Key responsibilities

- Assisting in the identification and interpretation of transmission parts and components from technical drawings, diagrams and catalogues

- Supporting the sourcing and retrieval of correct parts for customer orders and internal requirements

- Learning to read and understand parts lists, technical specifications and vehicle identification systems

- Assisting experienced staff in verifying part numbers and cross-referencing information against supplier databases

- Contributing to the maintenance of parts inventory and stock management systems

- Providing basic customer support and enquiry assistance under supervision

- Undertaking formal apprenticeship training as required, both on-the-job and through approved training providers

- Developing knowledge of truck transmission systems, components and industry standards

What we're looking for

- A genuine interest in the automotive industry and truck transmissions,



with a passion to learn and develop expertise

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when working with technical information and part specifications

- Good organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks

- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working within a team environment

- Basic numeracy and literacy skills, with competency in reading technical documentation

- Ability to use computer systems and learn new software applications quickly

- A willingness to ask questions, seek clarification and take responsibility for your own learning and development

- Reliability, punctuality and a professional work ethic

- Eligibility to commence an apprenticeship with relevant qualifications (typically Year 10 or equivalent)

- Desirable: Any prior experience or familiarity with mechanical systems, automotive parts or customer service environments
