About the role

First Support Australia is seeking a reliable, caring and experienced Disability Support Worker to provide one-on-one support to an NDIS participant living in a Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) apartment in Brighton. Wednesday morning and evening shifts are available, with potential opportunities for additional shifts in the future.

Key responsibilities

- Provide respectful, person-centred personal care and daily living assistance.
- Assist with transfers and mobility using a ceiling hoist.
- Support domestic duties, cleaning and general household tasks.
- Assist with catheter-related hygiene and cleaning within the worker's training and assessed competency. Clinical concerns will be escalated to a qualified nurse.
- Maintain accurate progress notes and report any changes or concerns.
- Follow the participant's support plan, workplace safety procedures and skilled boundaries.

About you

- Previous experience providing disability support or personal care.
- Experience with ceiling hoist transfers,



or demonstrated competency following appropriate training and assessment.
- Good communication skills and a reliable, professional attitude.
- Ability to work independently while following participant care plans.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening clearance, or willingness to obtain the required clearance before commencing relevant duties.
- Valid working rights in Australia.
- Willingness to complete required induction and participant-specific training.
- Comfortable working in a home with cats.
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability or a related qualification (desirable).
- Previous experience supporting participants with mobility limitations (desirable).
