Located within Bankstown Sports Club, Greenfield Station Bistro is a busy, high-volume dining destination serving guests from breakfast through to dinner.

From our popular breakfast buffet through to busy lunch and dinner services, Greenfield offers a fast-paced kitchen environment and a fantastic chance for an aspiring chef to gain hands-on experience, work alongside an experienced culinary team and continue developing their skills across different areas of the kitchen.

About the role

We are looking for a Full-Time Commis Chef to join our Greenfield Station Bistro kitchen team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic chef who enjoys the energy of a busy, high-volume kitchen and is looking to continue building their culinary career.

You’ll work across preparation and service, supporting our senior chefs throughout breakfast, lunch and dinner, while gaining valuable experience across different sections of the kitchen.

About You

You’re passionate about food, eager to learn and comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment. You’re organised, reliable and understand the importance of quality and consistency during busy service periods.

You’ll enjoy being part of a team, take pride in the food you prepare and be keen to continue developing your skills and progressing your culinary career.

Key responsibilities:

- Prepare, measure, peel, chop and portion ingredients to ensure smooth and efficient service.

- Assist with preparation and cooking across Greenfield’s breakfast buffet and busy lunch and dinner services.

- Work closely with the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef and wider kitchen team across preparation, cooking, plating and service.





- Ensure dishes and food components are prepared consistently and to the required standard.

- Maintain clean and organised workstations while following food safety, hygiene and WHS requirements.

- Follow safe food-handling practices, correctly store ingredients and monitor freshness and expiry dates.

- Build your experience across different kitchen sections and continue developing your cooking skills under the guidance of our senior chefs.

Essential requirements:

- Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen

- Sound cooking and food preparation skills

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

- Strong communication and teamwork skills

- Good time management and organisation

- Understanding of food safety, hygiene and kitchen safety standards

- A positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop

- Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including mornings, evenings and weekends
