Join Our Friendly General Practice Team!

Hill Street Medical Centre is seeking a friendly, organised, and motivated Medical Receptionist to join our team in Port Macquarie. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and a genuine commitment to providing outstanding patient service.

This position will commence on a part-time basis, with a strong possibility of transitioning to full-time hours for the right candidate. We are looking for someone who is available to start immediately and is keen to grow with our practice.

About the role

As the first point of contact for patients, you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of a busy general practice.

Key responsibilities

- Greeting patients and providing friendly, professional customer service

- Answering phone calls, managing enquiries, and booking appointments

- Managing patient records and updating information in the practice management system

- Processing payments and handling Medicare billing

- Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, referrals, and medical records

- Supporting doctors, nurses, and other team members with administrative duties

- Maintaining patient confidentiality and ensuring a welcoming reception environment





About you

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Organised, reliable, and able to manage competing priorities

- Qualified, friendly, and compassionate approach to patient care

- Good computer skills and attention to detail

- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

- Willing to learn and adapt in a busy medical practice

- Previous medical reception or general practice experience highly regarded

- Experience with Best Practice software and Medicare billing would be an advantage
