Experienced Civil Leading Hand wanted for ongoing civil construction projects across South East Queensland.

Avaton Acquire is seeking an experienced, hands-on Civil Leading Hand with a strong background in roadworks, bulk earthworks, retaining walls or concrete structures.

This opportunity is suited to someone who has progressed through the tools, understands civil construction from the ground up and is confident leading crews while remaining actively involved in daily site operations.

You'll be working across civil and infrastructure projects throughout Brisbane, Logan and the Gold Coast, supporting site supervisors and ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

The Role

As a Civil Leading Hand, you'll play a key role in coordinating day-to-day site activities, supervising crews and assisting with the delivery of civil construction works.

Your responsibilities may include:

- Leading and coordinating civil construction crews, subcontractors and plant operators.
- Working across TMR roadworks, bulk earthworks, retaining walls and concrete structures.
- Coordinating daily tasks, labour, materials and machinery.
- Assisting with excavation, site preparation, grading and earthworks.
- Overseeing formwork, steel fixing, reinforcement and concrete pours.
- Supporting retaining wall construction, footings and structural concrete works.
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings, plans and specifications.
- Monitoring workmanship, productivity and project progress.
- Working closely with Site Supervisors and Project Managers to meet construction schedules.
- Ensuring compliance with WHS requirements, site procedures and quality standards.




- Remaining hands-on and assisting crews wherever required.

About You

We're looking for someone with a solid civil construction background who can confidently lead a crew and keep work moving on site.

To be successful, you'll ideally have:

- Demonstrated experience as a Civil Leading Hand or experienced Civil Construction worker ready to step up.
- Experience across one or more of the following:
- TMR roadworks and road infrastructure
- Bulk earthworks and excavation
- Retaining walls and ground support structures
- Structural concrete, formwork and reinforcement
- Strong understanding of civil construction methods, equipment and site operations.
- Experience coordinating small to medium-sized crews.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and follow specifications.
- Confidence working alongside supervisors, engineers and subcontractors.
- Solid communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- A practical, hands-on approach to leadership.
- Commitment to safety, quality and productivity.
- Construction White Card and current driver's licence.

Highly regarded:

- Previous experience delivering TMR projects.
- Experience working on major civil infrastructure projects.
- Relevant plant operating tickets.
- Certificate III in Civil Construction.
- Experience with concrete structures, bridgeworks, drainage or retaining wall construction.
- Previous experience working to TMR specifications and quality requirements.
