Your new company

We're working with a major resources organisation in Townsville looking for a Junior Service Desk Analyst to join its IT support team. This is a great chance for a recent IT graduate, current university student or someone early in their IT career who wants to gain hands-on experience within a large operational environment.

Your new role

You'll join an established IT support team providing frontline support to users in a hands-on operational environment. This is an initial contract through to 1 January 2027, with a view to extend, based in Townsville.

The role operates across a flexible shift-based roster. During the initial training period, hours will generally range from 15 to 32 hours per week, depending on operational requirements and available shifts, with scope for hours to increase as you become established in the role.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

- Windows and Microsoft 365 support
- User accounts and access
- Incident logging, triage and troubleshooting
- End-user devices and applications
- General IT support and customer service

What you'll need to succeed

This role would suit someone looking to take their first steps into an IT career. You'll ideally have:





- Completed or currently studying for an IT degree, diploma or similar qualification
- A basic understanding of Windows and Microsoft environments
- An interest in IT support and troubleshooting
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- A willingness to learn and develop your technical skills
- The ability to work on-site in Townsville
- Flexibility to work across the required shift roster
