Construction Supervisor
About the role

We are looking for an experienced Construction Supervisor to join the team at SHP Construction & Civil in Townsville.

This is a full-time position with an immediate start available for the right person. You will take responsibility for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of construction projects, working closely with our Project Managers, subcontractors, suppliers and clients to deliver projects safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

We are looking for someone who is hands-on, organised and solutions-focused, with the ability to lead people, manage competing priorities and take ownership of projects from commencement through to completion.

What you'll be doing

- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day construction activities, site personnel and subcontractors.

- Manage site operations to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.

- Ensure compliance with WHS requirements, company procedures, site-specific requirements and environmental obligations.

- Monitor construction progress, workmanship and quality, identifying and resolving issues before they impact project delivery.

- Coordinate subcontractors, materials, plant and other site resources.

- Develop and manage short-term work programs and construction schedules to assist in achieving project milestones.

- Read, interpret and work from construction drawings, specifications and project documentation.

- Conduct site inspections, toolbox meetings and relevant site coordination activities.

- Work closely with Project Managers to manage program, quality, variations, site issues and project priorities.

- Liaise professionally with clients, consultants,



subcontractors and other project stakeholders.

- Provide leadership, direction and mentoring to site teams while promoting a positive and accountable site culture.

- Assist with project handover, defect management and completion documentation.

What we're looking for

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

- A minimum of 3 years' experience in a Construction Supervisor, Site Supervisor or Foreperson role.

- Strong experience supervising building construction works and subcontractors.

- Sound technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, sequencing and site coordination.

- Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and construction documentation.

- A solid understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and a commitment to maintaining safe sites.

- Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple trades and competing priorities.

- Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.

- The ability to build strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, consultants and project teams.

- A current Australian driver's licence.

- A current QBCC Builder Licence is highly desirable. Alternatively, applicants should have the qualifications and experience required to obtain an appropriate QBCC Builder Licence.





- Ability to successfully complete a National Police Check.
