About the role

Camberwell Medical Group is seeking an experienced GP Clinic Practice Manager to join our healthcare management team. This is a part-time position based in Camberwell, VIC 3124. As Practice Manager, you will play a crucial role in the efficient day-to-day operations of our general practice clinic. You will be responsible for ensuring smooth clinical and administrative workflows, managing staff, maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations, and enhancing the patient experience. This position is fundamental to the success of our practice and directly impacts the quality of care we deliver to our patients.

Key responsibilities

- Overseeing the day-to-day management and operations of the general practice clinic

- Managing clinic staff, including recruitment, training, scheduling and performance management

- Ensuring compliance with healthcare legislation, regulations and accreditation standards

- Maintaining accurate patient records and managing confidential medical information in accordance with privacy laws

- Managing clinic finances, budgeting, invoicing and banking procedures

- Coordinating with general practitioners and clinical staff to optimise clinic workflows and patient scheduling

- Implementing and monitoring quality assurance processes and patient satisfaction initiatives

- Managing clinic facilities, equipment and supplies to ensure a safe and skilled environment

- Handling patient enquiries, complaints and concerns in a professional and empathetic manner

- Maintaining comprehensive administrative records and reporting requirements





What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a practice manager or in a similar healthcare management role within a general practice or medical clinic setting

- Solid knowledge of general practice operations, healthcare compliance and relevant legislation including privacy requirements

- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

- Demonstrated leadership and people management experience with the ability to motivate and develop a team

- Proficiency with practice management software and electronic health record systems

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, staff and healthcare practitioners

- Sound financial management skills including budgeting and financial reporting experience

- High level of professionalism, discretion and commitment to patient confidentiality

- Current knowledge of Medicare and healthcare billing practices is advantageous

- Certification in practice management or healthcare administration is preferred
