The Role

This business’s structural discipline has grown quickly, and they’re now looking for a Principal Structural Engineer to work directly with the National Structural Lead as one of the senior leaders of the team.

It’s a proper leadership role, not just a title. You’ll deliver a range of building projects, with a focus on data centres and residential, while playing a key part in the continued growth and direction of the structural team.

Expect a high level of responsibility, client interaction, mentoring and technical delivery.

The Responsibilities

- Lead the design and delivery of your own portfolio of building projects, with a focus on data centres and residential.
- Work alongside the National Structural Lead to support the growth and direction of the structural team.
- Take technical ownership of your projects and provide senior oversight to the engineers delivering them.




- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and project teams.
- Mentor and develop engineers across the team, and help shape the next generation of structural talent.

The Requirements

This role suits an experienced structural engineer who’s a genuine leader, ready to take real ownership of a team and its growth. You’ll be able to demonstrate:

- 15+ years’ structural engineering experience
- Experience within an Australian engineering design consultancy, preferably within NSW
- A background with a recognised, well-regarded structural engineering consultancy
- Data centre and/or residential building experience highly desirable
- Chartered status (CPEng / NER)
- NSW Design Practitioner registration highly regarded
- Proven experience leading teams and mentoring engineers
- Full working rights in Australia
