The Civil Maintenance Planner is responsible for effective planning, development, prioritisation and delivery of Murrumbidgee Irrigation’s (MI) civil maintenance planning program through high-quality investigation, assessment and planning of maintenance works.

About the Role

As a Civil Maintenance Planner, you will be part of a professional team focused on the provision of effective planning, development, prioritisation of works leading to the ultimate success of MI’s maintenance planning program through high-quality investigation, assessment and planning of maintenance works, as well as providing in-field support for key safety/quality/environmental functions required for efficient execution of works.

Key Responsibilities

- Support works execution teams with approved pre-works planning activities (e.g. BYD, traffic management requirements, environmental planning forms, services locations)



for tasks that are designated for action in the relevant team’s worklist
- Undertaking desktop and field-based condition assessment for inspection purposes and gathers accurate civil, vegetation, access, environmental and site-risk data to support works planning, vegetation removal approvals and safe, efficient execution of maintenance activities.
- Support effective execution of maintenance works through site inspections (safety, environmental & quality), permit sign-on & contractor supervision activities
- Drive and support a safety-focused culture by ensuring effective, best-practise equipment, systems and procedures are in place and consistently followed, and by promoting and reinforcing a strong safety and environmental focus.

What you will bring

- Current ‘C’ class motor vehicle licence
- Experience in conducting and planning maintenance works
- Intermediate computer skills in the Microsoft suite
- Experience in quantity estimation
- Knowledge / experience in hazard identification and mitigation e.g., powerline, traffic hazard management and Before You Dig investigation.
- Knowledge of civil maintenance activities e.g. earth works, culvert/pipe installs, excavator operations.
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of safe work procedures and WHS training relevant to work
