A large Federal Government department is undertaking a significant expansion of its enterprise portfolio and program management capabilities.
As part of this investment, opportunities are available for finance professionals to work alongside program, project and portfolio teams, helping strengthen financial management, reporting and data-driven decision-making across complex programs. The broader program is focused on stronger portfolio management, investment alignment and improved program outcomes.

Your new role
Hays is seeking Financial Analysts and Program Finance Officers across APS4 to EL1 equivalent levels for contract opportunities based in Canberra.Depending on your experience and level, you may be responsible for:

- Program and project budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
- Monitoring budgets, expenditure, commitments and financial performance
- Monthly financial reporting, variance analysis and financial dashboards
- Supporting procurement, resource management and financial administration
- Providing analysis and advice to support program and portfolio decisions
- Preparing financial information, briefs and reporting for senior stakeholders
- Identifying financial risks, trends and opportunities for improvement
- Partnering with program, project and portfolio teams to support delivery

The scope ranges from financial support and administrative processing at APS4 through to budget maintenance and reporting at APS5,



management of budgets and financial analysis at APS6, and broader program and portfolio responsibilities at EL1.

What you'll need to succeed
A current NV2 and/or PV security clearance is required for these opportunities. (NV1 will be considered based on experience)

We're interested in speaking with finance professionals with experience in one or more of the following areas:

- Management accounting, budgeting and forecasting
- Financial or program analysis
- Program or project financial management
- Management reporting and variance analysis
- Finance business partnering
- Financial modelling and decision support
- Government finance, procurement or resource management

You'll bring strong analytical and stakeholder engagement skills and be comfortable translating financial information into practical advice.
