N Valiant Micro Siten N What You'll Be Doing N As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll be instrumental in shaping the future of our platform. Your responsibilities will include: N n Designing and building RESTful APIs for our front-end applications and partners N Integrating with a range of external services such as Salesforce, Auth0, Cloudflare, and more N Architecting solutions that meet our high availability, security, and performance requirements N Maintaining our infrastructure on a major cloud provider to support our rapid growth N Writing well-structured, tested, and documented code that's a pleasure to maintain N Working closely with our Product, Design,



and other teams to refine deliverables and bring recent features to life N n n n What We're Looking For N We're seeking a passionate backend engineer who can solve complex technical problems and communicate solutions with ease. N Required Experience: N n Minimum 5 years of commercial Ruby on Rails experience N Proven experience integrating with multiple external APIs N Experience with database design and performance tuning, particularly with PostgreSQL N Experience designing and maintaining infrastructure with AWS, GCP, or Heroku N Experience with testingframeworks like Rspec N Experience with high-volume background job processing frameworks like Sidekiq N Strong experience designing and maintaining both public and private REST APIs N Proficiency with development tools like Linear or Jira N Strong written and verbal communication skills N n Bonus Points: N n Experience with security best practices (e.G., OWASP, STRIDE) N Experience with synchronising data between distributed systems N Experience in high-volume production environments with strict availability SLAs N Knowledge of the financial services industry (lending or corporate finance) N A Computer Science degree N Experience navigating GDPR and/or SOC2 N n n n Benefits & Culture N We're a remote-friendly team, but if you prefer an office environment, our Surry Hills space is open, dog-friendly, and empowering.
