Job DescriptionRole: Lead DeveloperLocations: QLD, ACT, NSW, VICWork Right: Must be Australian CitizenSecurity Clearance: Must be able to obtain NV1 N 12 months contract, possible extension- NnAbout the Role: NnnWe’re seeking an experienced Principal Developer / Lead Backend API Developer to lead the design, development and ongoing evolution of a consumer API platform that supports web applications, portals and mobile apps in a highly governed environment. NnYou’ll provide hands-on technical leadership, set engineering standards, and work closely with cross-functional teams (frontend, platform engineering, integration and enterprise platforms) to deliver secure, scalable and reliable digital services. Nn nnA major focus is the development of a new middleware platform that will sit between the backend systems, MuleSoft services, and customer-facing portals. The successful candidate will help establish the backend team and technical practices supporting this platform. Nn nn Key Responsibilities Nnn Lead the establishment of the new middleware/backend development team. Nnn Provide technical leadership and set engineering standards and practices. Nnn Mentor andguide a small team of developers. Nnn Lead troubleshooting, debugging, and production issue resolution. Nnn Drive high-quality software engineering outcomes. Nnn Support both portal and mobile application teams through shared middleware services.



N nTechnical Skills Required : Nnn Leading design/delivery of enterprise-scale backend services, API platforms and integrations. N Strong expertise in Golang, GraphQL, API architecture, authN/authZ patterns, and service-to-service communication. N Cloud-native delivery/operations experience with Kubernetes and AWS (incl. EKS). N Establishing engineering standards, code reviews, automated testing and delivery governance. N Practical experience using AI-assisted software engineering tools while maintaining solid oversight/accountability. N Production support and debugging of complex systems N Integration experience with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce and MuleSoft (or equivalent).
