Machine Operator | Novon Lighting

Permanent full-time | Monday to Friday | 7:30am–3:36pm

Bring your metal manufacturing experience to Novon Lighting and take on a hands-on role producing quality sheet metal components using automated and semi-manual machinery.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Machine Operator to join our production team. Reporting to our Manufacturing Engineer, you will operate and monitor manufacturing equipment, check product quality and help keep production running safely and efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Operating computer-controlled machinery, including laser cutting, bending, robotic and spot welding equipment.
- Setting up machines, loading programs and adjusting settings in collaboration with the programming team.
- Reading technical drawings and specifications to ensure components meet production requirements.
- Performing quality checks and promptly reporting defects or production issues.
- Carrying out routine machine cleaning, maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
- Handling and storing raw materials, components and finished products safely.
- Maintaining accurate production records and contributing ideas to improve processes.
- Following workplace safety, quality and environmental procedures.

About you

You will bring:





- Previous machine operating experience within a metal manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, including cutting, bending, welding and assembly.
- Experience operating computer-controlled machinery and identifying basic equipment faults.
- The ability to read technical drawings and interpret specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain production records.
- A reliable approach, good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.

A forklift licence is desirable but not essential. Experience with automated manufacturing or robotic systems will also be highly regarded.
