The Senior Machine Learning Engineer is a core contributor to Nearmap's algorithmic systems for creating conflated map data products. You will translate research and development from the AI & Computer Vision team into data-driven solutions, working with petabytes of aerial imagery and geospatial data to transform raw observations into high-quality, actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and operate software systems that process large-scale aerial imagery and geospatial data through fully automated, cost-effective pipelines
- Profile and debug conflation pipelines to identify and resolve unexpected artefacts near property boundaries
- Collaborate with computer vision researchers to understand model confidence scores and their implications for downstream data quality
- Design, build, and maintain sub-components of the conflation system in collaboration with data scientists and CV researchers
- Review code and work of peers, utilising agentic coding tools as part of standard development practices
- Ensure compliance with Nearmap values, policies, and standards, as well as all local statutory requirements
- Adhere to company guidelines and the corporate Code of Conduct, acting ethically when dealing with company assets and colleagues
