Bright Brewery is bringing a little bit of the High Country to Melbourne's east, and we're looking for an experienced, passionate Head Chef to lead the kitchen at our new Bright Taphouse Croydon .

With 20 taps pouring our award-winning, mountaincrafted beers, great food and a welcoming atmosphere, Bright Taphouse Croydon is all about bringing people together.

We're looking for someone who shares that philosophy. A chef who loves producing outstanding food, takes pride in their kitchen, knows how to lead a team and understands that a great hospitality experience is about more than what's on the plate.

The Role

As Head Chef, you'll take ownership of the kitchen, leading the team and delivering a consistently excellent food experience that complements our beers and brings customers back.

You'll have the opportunity to put your stamp on the menu, build a positive kitchen culture and play a key role in establishing Bright Taphouse Croydon as a favourite local destination.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Leading, mentoring and developing a passionate kitchen team.
- Creating and delivering a quality, approachable menu that suits our taphouse environment.
- Maintaining consistently high standards of food quality, presentation and service.
- Managing food costs, ordering, stock control and kitchen budgets.
- Overseeing kitchen rosters, labour costs and operational efficiency.
- Maintaining exceptional food safety, cleanliness and compliance standards.
- Working closely with the venue leadership team to deliver a seamless customer experience.
- Supporting functions, events and seasonal menu opportunities.

About You





We're after someone who's confident in the kitchen, comfortable leading from the front and genuinely enjoys being part of a team.

You'll bring:

- Proven experience as a Head Chef or an experienced Sous Chef ready to take the next step.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to build a positive, supportive kitchen culture.
- A passion for quality, approachable food made with care and consistency.
- Sound commercial understanding of food costs, margins and labour management.
- Excellent organisation, communication and problem-solving skills.
- A hands-on attitude and willingness to jump in wherever needed.
- A genuine appreciation for great hospitality, good beer and the communities that support us.
