Medicinal cannabis is a rapidly evolving area of healthcare in Australia, requiring Pharmacists to combine solid clinical knowledge, regulatory understanding and patient communication skills. The role involves working closely with patients, prescribers, clinics and internal pharmacy teams to support the safe and appropriate dispensing of medicinal cannabis products. You will work across both patient-facing and operational areas of the dispensary, providing variety and the opportunity to develop specialised knowledge within medicinal cannabis.

Key responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care both in person and over the phone

Accurately and efficiently dispense and verify medicinal cannabis prescriptions

Provide appropriate medication counselling and patient education

Ensure compliance with SAS-B and Authorised Prescriber frameworks, together with relevant state-specific requirements

Work collaboratively with doctors, nurses, clinic teams and other healthcare professionals

Support clinical screening and prescription-related enquiries

Liaise with Medical Science Liaisons and industry representatives regarding medicinal cannabis products and education

Prepare patient orders for collection and delivery with accuracy and attention to detail

Assist with stock management and controlled drug handling,



including Schedule 8 requirements

Maintain accurate records and appropriate dispensing documentation

About you

Bachelor of Pharmacy qualification

Unrestricted AHPRA General Registration as a Pharmacist

Experience working in a busy, dynamic, fast-acped or high-volume dispensing environment

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe dispensing practices

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Strong problem-solving ability

Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Ability to adapt quickly to new systems, procedures and regulatory requirements

An interest in medicinal cannabis, alternative therapies and emerging areas of pharmacy practice

Build specialised experience within the growing medicinal cannabis industry

Work alongside a team of experienced Pharmacists and pharmacy assistants

Competitive salary package

Permanent full-time position with up to 45 hours available, or part-time hours available for the right candidate

No weekend shift, strictly Monday to Friday

Work in a predominantly non-retail pharmacy environment

Develop knowledge across medicinal cannabis products, regulations, dispensing and patient care
