The opportunity

You may already be an experienced Centre Director who enjoys leading people, solving operational challenges and developing educators, but feels ready to make a difference beyond one service.

This newly developed Area Manager position offers that progression.

Based in Oatley, you will help guide established and developing early childhood services within a growing Christian organisation. The role includes supporting an established preschool, contributing to the establishment of a new Wollongong-area service and providing leadership across the organisation's expanding network.

You will work with service leaders on staffing, compliance, educational quality, operational performance and team development.

Importantly, this is intended to be a hands-on leadership role. You will spend time understanding what educators and service leaders need,



helping resolve challenges and strengthening the systems that allow services to operate effectively.

You will also have the opportunity to influence how the role develops as the organisation grows.

What will you be doing?

Your responsibilities will include:

- Mentoring Centre Directors and developing emerging leaders.
- Supporting recruitment, induction and the establishment of new teams.
- Maintaining high standards of child safety, regulatory compliance and educational practice.
- Helping services manage staffing, operational challenges and day-to-day priorities.
- Building constructive relationships with educators, families and organisational leadership.
- Contributing to operational planning as new services open.

Who would suit this position?

You are likely an experienced Centre Director, Service Manager or senior early childhood leader who is ready for broader responsibility.

You will bring sound operational judgement, experience managing teams and a strong understanding of the realities of running an early childhood service.

You will also have:

- Substantial leadership experience within early childhood education and care.
- Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Experience coaching educators and developing leadership capability.
- Confidence managing performance, staffing and operational priorities.
- An ACECQA-approved qualification relevant to the position.
- Active Christian faith and meaningful involvement in a local church.
- A willingness to travel between services when required.

Experience opening a recent service or overseeing multiple locations would be valuable, but it is not essential.

You do not need to have held an Area Manager title before. What matters is your leadership capability, professional judgement and readiness to take the next step.
