- Funded by NIAA Help local families take the first step towards home ownership Palm Island Aboriginal Shire Council is seeking a motivated and community-minded Rent to Buy Engagement Officer to support delivery of the Palm Island Rent-to-Buy Home Ownership Program. This exciting NIAA-funded, entry-level opportunity is ideal for an eligible young person who enjoys working with people and wants to make a positive impact in their community. You’ll build practical skills and experience while helping participants understand the Rent-to-Buy Home Ownership Program, complete applications, access support services and navigate their pathway towards home ownership.

About the Role
As the Rent to Buy Engagement Officer, you will: Support community members to understand and access the Rent-to-Buy Program Assist participants with applications,



forms and documentation Build positive relationships with community members and stakeholders Help coordinate appointments and follow-up activities Support community information sessions and engagement activities Maintain records and assist with reporting and administration tasks Work closely with Council staff, support services and program partners. About You We're looking for someone who: Enjoys helping people and giving back to the community Communicates respectfully and effectively with others Is reliable, organised and willing to learn Has basic computer skills or a willingness to develop them Can maintain confidentiality and professionalism Works well as part of a team. What You'll Receive On-the-job training and mentoring Opportunities to build your skills and confidence A chance to contribute to meaningful community outcomes Experience working within local government and community programs. This role is intended for eligible job seekers and RAES participants aged 15-24 years within the RAES region, who are looking to build skills, gain experience and support their community.
