About The Company

Softtest Pays Pty Ltd is seeking technology professionals to contribute to the delivery of secure, accessible digital services. The organisation is looking for an experienced mobile application developer who can work across platforms, collaborate with delivery teams and help build reliable applications for users. This chance is suited to someone who values high-quality engineering, practical problem-solving and a thoughtful approach to user experience.

About The Role

As a Mobile Application Developer, you will develop, test, release and maintain applications for Android and iOS. You will work with native technologies, including Kotlin, Java, Swift and Objective-C, as well as cross-platform frameworks such as React Native. Partnering with UI/UX designers, QA specialists and other developers, you will turn designs and requirements into accessible, dependable mobile experiences.

The role also involves integrating applications with internal APIs and external services, and supporting delivery through modern DevOps practices.

You will contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, from technical design and implementation through testing, deployment, code review and ongoing maintenance. You will help ensure that mobile applications work effectively within complex systems and meet relevant accessibility expectations, including WCAG 2.1. Depending on your experience, you may also contribute to web application development or back-end services.

Qualifications

Candidates should bring substantial experience developing and releasing mobile applications on both Android and iOS. Practical capability with native mobile development tools and languages, alongside React Native, is essential. You should be familiar with accessibility standards for web and mobile applications and understand how to apply inclusive design principles during development.

Experience establishing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub or GitLab is required, as is familiarity with supporting tools such as Artifactory and HashiCorp Vault. You should be able to write automated unit, component, integration and functional tests, and work constructively with QA teams on integration and end-to-end testing. Strong communication and collaboration skills are important, including the ability to work with designers and translate UI designs into polished application components.

Experience integrating with internal APIs, Firebase and content management systems is valued. Desirable capabilities include helping establish a new mobile application’s development environment and selecting appropriate tools and services; building accessible web applications with React and TypeScript; and contributing across all stages of the SDLC. Exposure to back-end development with Go or JavaScript/TypeScript, and container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes and Helm, would also be advantageous.

Responsibilities

Develop,

release and maintain secure, high-quality Android and iOS applications using appropriate native and cross-platform technologies. Convert designs and functional requirements into consistent, accessible mobile components, collaborating with UI/UX designers to support a unified user experience. Integrate applications with internal APIs, Firebase and CMS platforms, and contribute to dependable service interactions.

Create and maintain automated tests, participate in code reviews, and work closely with QA colleagues to support comprehensive integration and end-to-end testing. Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, apply DevOps practices, and contribute to technical designs, deployments and long-term maintenance. Where relevant, support web or back-end development and provide input on tools, frameworks and engineering practices.

Benefits

This role offers the opportunity to work across mobile platforms and modern development practices while contributing to complex digital products. You can apply a broad range of technical skills, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate throughout the software delivery lifecycle. The position also provides scope to deepen expertise in accessibility, automated testing, DevOps and emerging application technologies.

Equal Opportunity

Softtest Pays Pty Ltd is committed to fair and respectful recruitment. Applicants will be considered on their relevant skills, experience and ability to meet the role requirements. The citizenship and security-clearance conditions stated above apply to this position. Candidates from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
