Sharon AI is recruiting on behalf of an affiliated new venture operating in the rapidly evolving AI infrastructure sector.

The opportunity is to join a growing infrastructure investment and development business focused on supporting the next generation of AI compute in Australia. The business is building the foundations for future growth, with a focus on infrastructure development, strategic partnerships and delivering projects that support Australia's evolving digital infrastructure needs.

The Role

As Design and Engineering Lead, you’ll drive the design and engineering strategy for large-scale AI infrastructure developments, ensuring projects are technically sound, commercially viable and built for scalability. Working across multidisciplinary teams, you’ll translate site requirements, power availability and operational needs into integrated engineering solutions that support successful project delivery.

What You’ll Be Doing:

- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering design across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and building services disciplines.
- Oversee design development for AI infrastructure facilities, including power distribution, cooling, water, utilities and supporting site infrastructure.
- Establish engineering standards, design governance and technical assurance processes, managing consultants and resolving design risks, site constraints and constructability issues.
- Collaborate with project delivery, energy and commercial teams to optimise project costs, programme, sustainability and whole-of-life performance.
- Provide technical guidance on design decisions, compliance, feasibility and engineering risks to support effective project delivery and future infrastructure growth.

What You’ll Bring:

- A degree in engineering or a related discipline, such as electrical,



mechanical, civil or structural engineering.
- Significant experience in engineering design, technical development or design management for large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, coordinate consultants and manage design deliverables, budgets, timelines and technical risks.
- Strong understanding of critical infrastructure, construction interfaces, design reviews, constructability and relevant regulatory and engineering standards.
- Excellent technical judgement, commercial awareness and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex engineering challenges into practical recommendations.
