Adelaide Venue Management (AVM) is South Australia’s leading provider of venue management services. It is responsible for operating three of Adelaide’s most iconic venues: Adelaide Convention Centre (ACC); Adelaide Entertainment Centre (AEC); and Coopers Stadium (CS); in addition to functions and events at The Drive (TD).

We are seeking an experienced, proactive Event Security Lead (Casual) to oversee physical security operations, site compliance, and front-line security personnel across our Events within Venues. Working closely with and reporting to the Senior Manager - Event Operations and the Event Operations Manager/s you will be a key part of our event delivery team. This role will act as the primary point of contact for event day security management, incident response, team mentoring, and client relations to ensure safe, secure and efficient delivery of security operations for high-profile events.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise Operations: Lead, roster, brief and mentor a team of security officers across multiple local sites.
- Incident Response: Manage security incidents, emergency escalations, and investigations, liaising directly with the Event Operations team and wider stakeholders, ie SAPOL, medical and hirers representatives when required.
- Compliance & Audits: Ensure adherence to SA licensing laws, site standard operating procedures (SOPs), and Work Health & Safety requirements.
- Client Engagement: Maintain robust, professional relationships with event organisers, managers, stakeholders, and visitors.
- Reporting & Systems: Monitor CCTV, access control systems, delivering comprehensive incident reports to senior management.

What We Are Looking For

- Licensing: Valid South Australia Security Industry Licence (Crowd Controller / Guard endorsement).
- Experience:



Minimum 3 years demonstrated experience in a senior security officer, team leader or supervisory role within physical security, including major events with attendances of up to 25,000 patrons, major entertainment venues, corporate concierge environments or critical infrastructure facilities.
- Licences: Hold a current Security licence with minimum Certificate 2 in Security Operations attained, current unrestricted Australian Driver’s Licence.
- Skills: Strong leadership, conflict de-escalation, and clear written/verbal communication skills.
