EL1 Project Delivery Assurance Lead

Location: Canberra
Duration: 12 months, opportunity for 2 x 12 month extensions
Hourly Rate: $80-$89 per hour
Clearance: Baseline

Our federal government client is seeking an experienced Portfolio Reporting & Project Assurance Specialist to support a large-scale digital and transformation portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate and manage portfolio, executive and enterprise reporting activities.
- Collect, consolidate and analyse project information, including progress, milestones, budgets, benefits, risks, dependencies and emerging issues.
- Develop and maintain portfolio dashboards, reports and reporting products.
- Support quarterly reporting processes, including project changes, new initiatives and funding requests.
- Identify information gaps, inconsistencies and quality concerns within project reporting.
- Present project risks, issues and dependencies in a clear and concise manner to support informed decision-making.
- Review and quality assure key project documentation and artefacts.
- Coordinate project health checks, post-implementation reviews and assurance activities.
- Document findings, lessons learned, recommendations and follow-up actions.
- Develop and improve reporting templates, guidance materials and working practices.
- Maintain clear documentation and support knowledge transfer to internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with project teams, executives, finance, governance, risk and portfolio management stakeholders.

Key Skills & Experience

- Demonstrated experience in portfolio reporting, project assurance and governance within complex project environments.




- Strong ability to analyse project and portfolio information and provide meaningful insights to senior stakeholders.
- Experience preparing executive-level reports, dashboards and briefing materials.
- Proven ability to review, develop and quality assure project artefacts, such as:
- Change Impact Assessments
- Change Management Plans
- Benefits Management Plans
- Project Transition Plans
- Lessons Learned Registers

- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work across business, technology, finance, governance and risk teams.
- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality and consistency in reporting and documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or professional certifications in project, program or portfolio management, such as:
- PRINCE2
- PMP
- MSP
- P3O
- Equivalent project or portfolio management certification
