ConsultANZ is seeking a Senior HSE Advisor for a major marine infrastructure project in Queensland. The successful candidate will take ownership of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) across the project, ensuring protected work practices and compliance throughout construction.

Responsibilities

- Lead and manage all health, safety and environmental activities across the project.
- Ensure compliance with relevant HSE legislation, regulations, standards and project requirements.
- Conduct site inspections, audits and risk assessments, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Develop, implement and maintain project-specific HSE plans, procedures and documentation.
- Monitor high-risk activities, including barge operations, heavy lifting over water and structural steel installation.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors and site personnel to promote a strong safety culture.

Requirements

- Minimum of 5 years’ post-graduate experience.
- Previous experience as an HSE Advisor or Senior HSE Advisor on major construction or infrastructure projects.
- Experience in marine civil construction, piling, bridge construction or major concrete works is highly desirable.
- Experience with barges, heavy lifting or over-water construction would be advantageous.




- Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, risk management and environmental compliance.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of HSE operations on site.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Australian working rights; suitably experienced New Zealand candidates will also be considered.
- Willingness to work FIFO on a 2:1 roster.
- The role will initially be office-based, with the option to work from Melbourne or Brisbane. FIFO site work in Queensland, is scheduled to commence in April 2026
