With a growing SMSF division, the firm is looking to welcome an SMSF Accountant who enjoys taking ownership of their work, building client relationships and continuing to develop their technical expertise.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on role offering the opportunity to manage SMSF work from start to finish, work directly with clients and gain exposure to increasingly complex matters.
Your responsibilities will include
- Preparing and completing SMSF accounts and compliance work
- Preparing financial statements, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements
- Managing annual SMSF accounts and ensuring compliance requirements are met
- Managing jobs from commencement through to completion while meeting client deadlines
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Assisting with ATO matters, including audits and negotiations
- Providing guidance and support to junior team members
- Contributing to complex assignments and ad hoc client matters
About You
You’ll be someone who takes pride in producing quality work, enjoys working collaboratively and is keen to continue developing within the SMSF space.
Ideally, you will bring
- Experience in SMSF within a public practice accounting firm
- A sound understanding of SMSF compliance and financial statement preparation
- The ability to manage your own workflow and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach
- A proactive attitude, attention to detail and willingness to learn
- An interest in expanding your technical knowledge and taking on greater responsibility
