Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Developer for a 3 month technical discovery and remediation initiative involving a critical enterprise simulation platform.

The successful candidate will provide hands-on technical expertise in analysing existing C#/.NET applications and PowerShell-based integrations, identifying technical issues, assessing system dependencies, and defining practical remediation solutions. The role will also contribute to improving application stability, automation and CI/CD processes.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the technical assessment of existing C#/.NET applications, integrations and supporting components.
- Investigate application issues, perform root cause analysis and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Analyse and document the current application architecture, system dependencies and integration points.
- Develop technical recommendations and remediation approaches to address identified risks and issues.
- Review PowerShell scripts, automation processes and existing application integrations.




- Assess CI/CD pipelines and deployment practices using Azure DevOps, recommending improvements where appropriate.
- Work with Oracle databases and supporting technologies to investigate application and integration issues.
- Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to validate findings and agree on remediation priorities.
- Prepare clear technical documentation covering findings, risks, proposed solutions and recommendations.

Required Skills and Experience

- Strong hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting applications using C# and .NET. Intermediate to advanced PowerShell scripting skills.
- Ability to assess existing application architecture, understand system dependencies and integration patterns, and contribute to defining scalable technical designs and remediation solutions for legacy systems.
- Experience working with Oracle databases and application integrations.
- Experience with Ansible or similar automation and configuration management tools.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong application troubleshooting, debugging and root cause analysis capabilities.
- Ability to develop practical remediation recommendations and communicate technical findings clearly.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently and contribute effectively within a collaborative technical team.

Desirable Skills

- Experience with the Elastic Stack, particularly Elasticsearch.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale applications or complex simulation platforms.
- Experience with application modernisation, technical debt assessment and remediation initiatives.
