The role

As a Senior Oracle Forms & APEX Developer, you will support, maintain and enhance business-critical Oracle applications, with strong hands-on responsibility across Oracle Forms, Oracle APEX, SQL, PL/SQL and Oracle Database technologies. You will work across established Oracle applications and newer APEX solutions, investigating production issues, delivering enhancements, performing impact analysis and supporting reliable releases.

Oracle Forms development and support: Maintain, troubleshoot and enhance Oracle Forms applications, including associated reports and database components.

Oracle APEX: Develop, maintain and enhance applications using Oracle Application Express (APEX).

SQL and PL/SQL: Develop, troubleshoot and optimise SQL queries, PL/SQL procedures, packages, functions, triggers and other database objects.

Production support: Investigate incidents and defects, perform root-cause analysis and implement sustainable fixes.





Application enhancements: Analyse business and functional requirements and translate them into appropriate technical changes.

Legacy application support: Understand existing application architecture, interfaces, dependencies and business processes to safely maintain established Oracle applications.

Impact analysis: Assess downstream impacts and dependencies before implementing application or database changes.

Testing and release: Support unit, system and integration testing, defect resolution, change implementation and application deployments.

Performance and reliability: Troubleshoot application and database performance issues and identify opportunities for optimisation and improved supportability.

Documentation and collaboration: Maintain technical and support documentation and work closely with business analysts, application teams, DBAs, infrastructure and platform teams.

You will bring hands-on experience supporting and developing enterprise Oracle applications, together with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Forms development and production support.
- Strong Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development and troubleshooting skills.
- Hands-on experience developing and supporting Oracle APEX applications.
- Experience with Oracle Database and database objects including procedures, packages, functions and triggers.
- Ability to understand, troubleshoot and enhance existing or legacy Oracle application code.




- Experience performing root-cause analysis and resolving production incidents and defects.
- Understanding of application dependencies, interfaces and integration points.
- Experience delivering application enhancements, testing, change implementation and releases.
- Experience working within structured incident, problem, change and release management processes.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with technical and business stakeholders.

To help us level up, you'll ideally have:

- Significant experience supporting enterprise applications built on Oracle Forms, PL/SQL and Oracle Database.
- Practical experience developing and supporting Oracle APEX applications.
- Experience working across a mix of legacy Oracle applications and newer application technologies.
- Experience analysing Oracle Forms applications for enhancement, remediation or modernisation.
- Familiarity with ITIL and Agile delivery practices and multidisciplinary application, DBA and infrastructure teams.
- Ability to independently take ownership of technical issues through investigation, resolution and closure.
