The Safety, Compliance & Maintenance Manager is accountable for regulatory and operational compliance across the B.A. Road Group. This covers heavy vehicles and Chain of Responsibility, plant and fleet, workforce and subcontractor competency, and client and certification requirements.
The role makes sure people, plant and vehicles are compliant before they go to site, that compliance records are complete and audit-ready at all times, and that gaps are identified and closed before they become a regulatory, contractual or safety problem. The role also oversees the maintenance program, so plant is available, compliant and costed.
On safety, the role owns the incident reporting and close-out process. It holds managers and supervisors accountable for completing investigations and closing out corrective actions on time, reports on their performance, and drives improvements that build a stronger safety culture across the business. Day-to-day safety on site remains the responsibility of operational managers, supervisors and foremen.
