A bit about the job
Joining our Commercial Claims team, you'll manage commercial property claims from first notification through to settlement.
The role involves helping customers and brokers navigate complex claims while delivering a high standard of service and technical expertise. Working closely with internal and external partners, you'll make coverage decisions, agree claim strategies and negotiate fair outcomes. There's also an opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives as we continue to grow our presence in Australia.
This role plays an important part in protecting our customers and maintaining Aviva's reputation in the market.
What you'll be doing
- Managing commercial property claims from notification through to resolution.
- Reviewing policy coverage and making indemnity decisions.
- Developing and delivering effective claim strategies.
- Building solid relationships with brokers, customers and service providers.
- Negotiating settlements and managing claim reserves.
- Delivering excellent service and support throughout the claims journey.
- Identifying opportunities to improve claims processes and customer outcomes.
- Representing Aviva at meetings, presentations and market-facing events.
- Supporting claims activity across other product lines when required.
- Contributing to the ongoing development of our Claims team and capability.
Skills and experience we're looking for
Essential
- Strong experience managing commercial property claims from end to end.
- Good knowledge of policy coverage interpretation and indemnity assessment.
- Experience working with brokers, customers, loss adjusters and other external partners.
- Strong communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions.
- A customer-focused approach and commitment to delivering great outcomes.
Nice to have
- Experience handling ISR and Contract Works claims.
- Experience delivering presentations or training sessions.
- Exposure to claims across multiple commercial insurance products.
