Core to providing that support - consistently, sustainably and with impact - is our finance team. And right now, we're looking for a Financial Accountant who's ready to roll up their sleeves and make a difference.

So, what's the role?
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Financial Accountant who enjoys getting into the detail, takes pride in getting the numbers right and likes being part of a collaborative finance team.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll be responsible for key financial accounting activities, including month-end processes, general ledger management, balance sheet reconciliations and payroll journals. You'll play an important role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information, maintaining strong financial controls and keeping reporting deadlines on track.

Working closely with the broader finance team, including Finance Business Partners, payroll and operational teams, you'll also have the opportunity to contribute to process improvements and systems enhancements across the organisation.

Here's what a typical week might look like:

- Managing the general ledger and preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Coordinating month-end processes, including accruals, journals and ensuring reporting deadlines are met
- Preparing payroll journals and reconciliations, working closely with payroll and HR to resolve discrepancies
- Managing fixed asset and depreciation schedules, along with grant income recognition
- Assisting with year-end statutory accounts and liaising with internal and external auditors




- Supporting the broader finance team and identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and systems

You're a detail-oriented Accountant who enjoys the technical side of accounting and takes pride in producing accurate, reliable financial information. You're organised, comfortable working to deadlines and have a knack for identifying discrepancies and working through problems.

Importantly, you're someone who thinks critically, asks questions and has the confidence to make decisions rather than simply following processes. You'll enjoy being hands-on, but you're also someone who sees the bigger picture and understands the importance of strong financial processes and controls.

Technically speaking, you:

- Hold a degree in Accounting, Finance or Business (or equivalent experience)
- Have solid experience in financial accounting, particularly month-end processes, general ledger management and balance sheet reconciliations
- Have a sound understanding of accounting principles and standards, including accrual accounting, income recognition and lease accounting
- Bring strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to investigate issues and make informed decisions
- Have advanced Excel skills and enjoy working with complex financial data
- Are highly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable working to deadlines
- Communicate confidently with stakeholders, including internal and external auditors
- Experience with TechnologyOne will be highly regarded
- Hold (or are willing to obtain) a valid DHS Working with Children Check
