VeiraMal Consulting is seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Manager to join our client's business Gum Tree Pies Yackandandah Pty Ltd t/a Gum Tree Pies Yackandandah located in Yackandandah. - Manage the day-to-day retail activities of the business and meet sales, service and financial objectives.
- Maintain reliable customer service, effective inventory practices and appropriate staffing across the retail operation.

Qualifications and Experience

- Relevant qualification is preferred.
- Experience managing a retail store or comparable customer-facing operation.
- Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
- Experience with stock management, budgets, sales reporting and retail promotions.
- Knowledge of workplace safety requirements.

- Deciding which pies and other lines the store carries and how much of each to hold, based on sales figures, the time of year and what our customers are buying and setting the standards staff follow for presentation, cleanliness and customer service.
- Placing daily orders for fresh and cooked pies and ordering packaging and other store supplies.
- Setting ordering guidelines for staff, placing daily orders for fresh and cooked pies and other store supplies, and setting retail prices and specials in consultation with the owner.




- Promoting the store and our products through in-store signage, counter displays, specials, and encouraging customers to use online ordering and to take home cold pies.
- Serving customers, recommending pies, explaining how to cook our cold pies, and handling larger or pre-ordered customer orders.
- Keeping records of stock on hand, deliveries, waste and unsold product, and completing end-of day till reconciliations, cash handling and banking.
- Preparing the store budget, including wages, stock purchases and consumables, monitoring sales against targets, and reporting results to the owner.
- Recruiting, interviewing and inducting new staff, training them in food handling, oven use, the point-of-sale system and customer service, preparing weekly rosters, and supervising staff on each shift.
- Making sure the store meets work health and safety and food safety requirements.

This includes safe use of ovens and hot equipment, manual handling, cleaning schedules, temperature checks for hot-held and frozen product, keeping food safety records, and reporting and following up any incidents. Requirements

- Demonstrated ability to lead a team and organize staffing across trading hours.
- Ability to manage stock, suppliers, pricing, budgets and sales performance within the authority assigned to the role.
- Sound judgment, problem-solving skills and a robust customer service focus.
- Ability to maintain safe operating practices.
