McDonald Hunter Gardens is a Newcastle landscaping and garden-care business. In three and a half years we've built a reputation for an excellent eye for detail, top-quality workmanship and real horticultural expertise, and we're still growing. After a great run, our team leader is stepping back for family reasons, and we're looking for a hands-on leader to take the crew forward.

What you'll do

- Run site visits, quote jobs and then run them from start to finish

- Lead and organise a small crew day to day

- Get on the tools alongside the team

- Be the face of MHG to our clients

- Spot extra work on site and quote it

- Look after the gear, the ute and site safety

- Bring a horticultural eye to every garden we touch

What a typical week looks like

We'll shape the week around your strengths, but generally expect:

- Two to three quotes from site visits with new and returning clients

- A day or two of regular garden maintenance (mowing, weeding, trimming)

- A clean-up job or a one- to two-day turfing job

- Bigger builds over a few weeks: recent garden layouts, garden edging,



small retaining walls and irrigation systems

What you'll bring

- Cert III in Horticulture or Cert III in Landscape Construction (minimum)

- Experience leading a crew or running a site

- Confidence measuring, estimating and pricing jobs

- A real eye for detail and pride in a quality finish

- Full manual driver's licence (trailer experience is a big plus)

- Reliability and clear communication with clients and the crew
