SkyDB is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to support a major Australian Government agency delivering technology solutions that serve millions of Australians.

This is an opportunity for an experienced software engineering professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, designing scalable solutions and leading high-performing development teams.

You’ll play a key role in delivering modern enterprise applications, driving technical improvements and ensuring software solutions meet high standards of quality, performance and security.

We’re particularly interested in candidates with experience in SAP S/4HANA, SAP UI5, ABAP, Angular or Node.js, alongside strong software engineering and technical leadership capabilities.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Lead the design, development and delivery of complex enterprise software solutions.
- Develop scalable, secure and maintainable applications using modern software engineering practices.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance and mentoring to software development teams.
- Design software architecture, components and integrations that meet business and technical requirements.
- Lead software development activities, including coding, prototyping, testing and deployment.
- Manage application releases,



production deployments and ongoing technical support.
- Investigate and resolve complex technical issues across development and production environments.
- Drive improvements in development methodologies, coding standards, automation and software quality.
- Collaborate with architects, business analysts, developers and stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes.
- Contribute to technical planning, risk management and continuous improvement initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

We’re interested in experienced software engineering professionals who bring:

- Solid experience in software engineering, application development and technical solution design.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex software development projects or technical teams.
- Hands-on experience designing, developing, testing and maintaining enterprise applications.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, system integration and secure development practices.
- Experience with software release management, deployment processes and CI/CD.
- Ability to analyse complex technical requirements and translate them into practical solutions.
- Experience applying software development methodologies, tools and quality standards.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience providing technical guidance, mentoring or leadership to other developers.

Technical Skills That Will Make You Stand Out

Experience with one or more of the following technologies is highly regarded:

- SAP S/4HANA
- SAP UI5 / SAP Fiori




- SAP ABAP
- Angular
- Node.js
- Enterprise application integration
- CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
- Software architecture and system design
- Secure software development and deployment

Experience delivering solutions within Australian Government agencies or large enterprise environments will also be highly regarded.
