In Australia Asia Pacific, we work with industry, government and communities to define, design and manage complex projects that create shared value. Our people combine technical expertise with practical thinking to help clients understand environmental risks, navigate complex challenges and deliver successful project outcomes.

The Opportunity
We're looking for a talented and enthusiastic Senior Consultant to join our Insights, Communications and Creative team in Brisbane.
This is an exciting opportunity for a communications and stakeholder engagement professional who is ready to take the next step in their career. Whether you're currently working in-house, for a major infrastructure project or within a consultancy, you'll have the chance to build on your experience, strengthen your consulting skills and work on interesting and complex infrastructure projects.
Working alongside an experienced and supportive team, you'll have the opportunity to take ownership of project activities, build strong client relationships and continue growing your technical and strategic capabilities. Experience in the transport sector would be a real advantage, but we're equally interested in people with transferable infrastructure experience and the drive to succeed.
What you'll be involved in
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and delivering communications, stakeholder engagement and community consultation strategies, plans and activities for infrastructure and development projects.
- Preparing high-quality communications materials, including community notifications, fact sheets, newsletters, key messages, web content, briefings and stakeholder correspondence.
- Planning and delivering stakeholder meetings, community information sessions, workshops and other engagement activities, including outside standard working hours when required.
- Building and maintaining relationships with residents, businesses, government agencies, councils, community groups and other project stakeholders.
- Managing stakeholder enquiries, complaints and emerging issues
- Working with multidisciplinary planning, design and construction teams to provide practical communications advice and prepare project reports and presentations.
- Maintaining stakeholder records, engagement databases and issues registers;
- Managing allocated work to agreed timeframes and quality standards.
- Identifying opportunities to expand communications and engagement services for existing clients.
- Enhance RPS’s reputation as a professional and trusted communications and engagement adviser.
- Contribution to proposals and tenders and develop relationships with clients and internal and external stakeholders.
About you
We're looking for an energetic, proactive go-getter who loves what they do and is ready to take the next step in their career. You're a confident communications and engagement professional with strong technical skills, a can-do attitude and a genuine passion for working with people and delivering great outcomes.
You thrive in fast-paced project environments, aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves and get things done, and bring fresh ideas, initiative and enthusiasm to everything you do. You're equally comfortable developing a communications strategy, crafting compelling content or navigating a challenging stakeholder conversation.
Ideally, you'll bring experience working on major infrastructure projects, particularly in the transport sector, but just as importantly, you'll be curious, adaptable and eager to keep learning. We're looking for someone who's technically capable, keen to grow and excited about being part of a collaborative team where you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact.
You will ideally bring:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, stakeholder engagement or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least five years' experience delivering communications and stakeholder engagement activities, preferably within infrastructure, construction or government.
- Experience working on major transport infrastructure projects, particularly road or rail, will be highly regarded.
- Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, engaging content.
- Proven ability to build stakeholder relationships, manage sensitive issues and confidently engage with diverse audiences.
- Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary project teams, ideally in planning, design or construction environments.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the initiative to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes.
- A proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach, with the confidence to work independently and provide sound advice to clients.
Why RPS?
Joining RPS means becoming part of a collaborative environmental team while also having access to the technical capability and opportunities of the broader Tetra Tech network.
