We are seeking skilled, independent Subcontractor Support Workers to partner with us in delivering high-quality support across the Moreton Bay and Brisbane regions.

The Role

As a subcontractor with Gentle Breeze Support Services, you will enjoy the autonomy of managing your own schedule while providing vital support to participants. You will also receive support from us as needed, whether that be admin support or support related to your participant work. Even though you will be working autonomously, we still want you to feel like part of a team.

Key Services Provided:

- Community Access: Accompanying participants to local social outings, recreational activities, and personal appointments.
- Daily Living Support: Assisting with meal preparation, light household tasks, and routine daily activities.
- Capacity Building: Empowering participants to learn new skills, build confidence, and grow their independence.
- Social Companionship: Providing engaging, respectful, and meaningful social interaction.

Compliance & Requirements

As an independent subcontractor, you must hold and maintain the following:

- Active Australian Business Number (ABN).
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Valid Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
- Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid Australian Driver’s License, with a reliable and fully insured vehicle.

We are also hiring for complex mental health support workers in the Cleveland area:

Brief rundown on the participant you will be supporting:

- Redlands area (QLD)
- shifts will be 7-8 hours and there is one sleepover once a week. Shifts are required everyday so looking to put a team together
- complex mental health with a range of diagnoses (further information will be provided during the interview process due to privacy)

- the participant lives with a combination of complex, long standing disabilities whose cumulative effects severely impact their daily way of life

- despite living with these challenges, the participant is highly intelligent and is wanting to re-engage in some studies
- Autism Level 2
- non smoker as participant is allergic to cigarette smoke
- comfortable with birds - participant has two parrots that are regularly out of their cages
- supports will include (but not limited to) ADLs, community access, medication support, pet care, advocacy with some housing issues, and support to get back to living a meaningful life

What is needed:

- appropriate educational background (psychology students are encouraged to apply!)
- experience with participants requiring high intensity support
- experience with complex mental health and trauma
- a team player and good communication skills as you will be required to collaborate and share tasks etc with other support workers on the team
- proactive in your work as the participant needs support in all areas of their life right now
