About the Role

This is an office based Pre Contracts Engineer position supporting tendering and pre contracts activities for regional WA projects. The role suits someone with a background as a Project Engineer or Estimator who understands how civil works are planned, priced and delivered in remote environments.

You will work closely with senior pre contracts and delivery leaders, gaining exposure to the full tender lifecycle while building the foundations for future progression within the business.

Key Responsibilities

Tendering and Estimating

- Prepare and support first principles estimates for regional civil works
- Complete quantity take offs from drawings and specifications
- Price direct works including earthworks, access roads, drainage, concrete, services and bulk civils
- Develop productivity rates and allowances reflecting regional conditions including remoteness, labour and logistics
- Identify and document risks, opportunities, assumptions and exclusions
- Assist with tender clarifications, addenda reviews and pricing revisions

Methodologies and Planning

- Develop construction methodologies for regional resources and energy projects
- Prepare staging, sequencing and access strategies suitable for remote sites
- Contribute to tender programs including durations, crews, plant spreads and mobilisation




- Incorporate logistics considerations such as camp based work and long supply chains
- Ensure methodologies are buildable, cost aligned and compliant with client requirements

Procurement and Subcontractor Engagement

- Prepare and issue RFQs to subcontractors and suppliers
- Engage with WA and regional subcontractors to assess availability and capability
- Evaluate quotes, complete bid comparisons and ensure scope alignment
- Support procurement strategies for early works and long lead items
- Assist with subcontractor clarifications and tender negotiations

Commercial and Tender Documentation

- Assist with preparation of tender submissions including scope of works, inclusions, exclusions and qualifications
- Maintain structured tender documentation and version control
- Participate in internal tender reviews and pricing sign off processes
- Support handover to delivery teams on awarded projects

Skills and Experience Required

- Minimum 1 year experience as a Project Engineer or Estimator within civil construction
- Background working for a Tier 2 or Tier 3 contractor
- Exposure to regional WA projects across resources, energy or infrastructure
- Confident in managing client relationships
- Strong understanding of regional civil construction challenges and cost drivers
- Ability to interpret drawings and specifications and prepare accurate estimates
- Strong written communication skills for methodologies and tender documentation
- Experience on mining infrastructure, energy, access roads, bulk earthworks or utilities
- Familiarity with tender programming tools such as MS Project or Primavera
- Office based role in Osborne Park
