About Helm

Helm helps businesses across Newcastle and the Hunter put AI to practical use. We sit down with their teams, understand how they work and help them use tools like Claude to make everyday jobs easier.

You’ll have clear direction and support, but also plenty of room to bring your own ideas, use your judgement and try recent approaches.

The role

We’re doing great work with businesses around Newcastle, and we don’t always have time to capture it. You’ll help change that by shaping our brand, our storytelling and how we position Helm.

You’ll also be the first person new clients talk to. Part of your week is looking after enquiries, proposals and the day-to-day running of the business. The rest is creating content that shows the work we do.

What you’ll do

- Respond to new enquiries quickly, qualify them and book them in
- Sit in on intro meetings, then start running them yourself
- Write proposals tailored to each business, thinking about who’s reading it and what matters to them
- Look after inboxes, calendars and day-to-day admin so client work keeps moving
- Capture and share the work we do, and help shape our brand and positioning:



LinkedIn and Instagram posts, short videos, client stories, email updates and website content

About you

- You like having direction, but you don't need someone telling you exactly how to do everything
- You read people well and adjust how you approach them, whether that's on a call or in a proposal
- Quick to reply
- Organised
- Comfortable on the phone
- Hands-on experience matters most to us. We'd love to hear about the work you've done in real businesses, whether that's marketing, client service, admin, sales support or something similar.
- If you already use Claude for work or your own projects, we'd love to hear about it. If you're newer to it, we'll teach you. No coding or technical background needed.
