Connect People is seeking an experienced Senior Project Accountant to join our client’s finance team, based in St Leonards, NSW.

Our client delivers essential infrastructure and services projects across Australia. This is a excellent opportunity for a hands-on senior accountant looking for a project-focused role with a reputable provider.

What’s on offer:

- Up to $60.00 per hour + super, depending on experience
- Contract from 2 November 2026 to 31 January 2027, possibility of extension
- 38 hours per week
- St Leonards based, 1 to 2 days work from home once settled in

What you’ll be doing:

- End-to-end project accounting across the full project lifecycle
- Month-end and year-end close, including balance sheet reconciliations
- Managing revenue, cost and margin recognition and investigating variances
- Managing project billing, WIP and receivables
- Preparing and reviewing project financial reporting
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal controls and audit requirements

What you need:

- Senior level project accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards




- Sound understanding of project accounting concepts and the link between operational and financial performance
- SAP financial systems experience preferred
- Lifecycle management contract experience preferred
- Confident working with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Full Australian working rights and based in Sydney
