About Drift

Drift Landscape Studio is an award-winning, design-focused landscape practice working across Western Australia.

Founded in 2016, our studio works primarily on high-end residential landscapes, alongside a growing portfolio of hospitality and public realm projects. We collaborate closely with architects and other design professionals to create distinctive, enduring landscapes that respond thoughtfully to architecture, materiality and place.

With an established portfolio and a strong pipeline of projects, we're looking for a talented Landscape Architect to join our growing team. We're seeking someone with a strong design sensibility, a thoughtful approach to their work and a collaborative nature.

The Role

Working closely with our Design Director and Senior Landscape Architect, you'll contribute creatively to projects from early concepts through to detailed design, construction documentation and delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Contributing to concept design, spatial planning and design development across predominantly high-end residential projects, alongside select commercial work.

- Developing well-resolved landscapes that respond to site, architecture, client briefs and budgets.

- Undertaking site analysis, research, material investigations and planting design.

- Preparing detailed construction documentation and construction details.

- Coordinating project deliverables within agreed programmes and fee allocations.

- Participating in studio design reviews and contributing to our design approach and technical standards.

- Taking increasing ownership of projects as your capabilities develop.

About You

We're looking for someone with strong creative instincts and the technical ability to translate ideas into resolved landscapes.

You'll ideally have:

- A degree in landscape architecture and approximately 3–6 years' professional experience.

- A strong design sensibility,

demonstrated through a portfolio of considered work.

- A sound understanding of spatial composition, materiality, planting and the relationship between landscape and architecture.

- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and SketchUp.

- Experience preparing accurate, well-resolved construction documentation.

- An understanding of landscape construction and materials.

- Strong organisational and communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Experience in high-end residential landscape design, 3D modelling, rendering or architectural visualisation would be highly regarded.

Above all, we value valuable design judgement, curiosity and a willingness to contribute creatively to the practice.

Why Join Drift?

We're a small, collaborative studio where design quality is central to our work.

The position offers:

- A diverse portfolio of projects across Western Australia.

- Genuine creative involvement and close collaboration with experienced designers and architectural practices.

- Exposure to projects from early concept through to construction.

- A supportive, down-to-earth environment that values professional development and work-life balance.

- Opportunities for increasing responsibility as the studio grows.

Location

The position is based in Nedlands, Perth, alongside our Senior Landscape Architect, within the office of a collaborating architectural practice.

Occasional travel to our head office in Albany and to regional projects, particularly the South West and South Coast, will be required.

How to Apply

Please submit your CV and a selective portfolio through SEEK, demonstrating your conceptual and spatial design thinking, developed designs and construction documentation.

Please identify your individual contribution to projects completed within larger teams. A brief cover letter outlining your interest in Drift would also be appreciated.
