We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Fitter to join a busy manufacturing operation in the Fremantle area. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys fault finding, problem-solving and keeping production equipment running safely and efficiently.
With a competitive rate of $59.65 per hour, a consistent Monday-to-Friday roster and additional penalties paid for extra hours worked, this role offers both stability and strong earning potential.
The Role
Working within a fast-paced food or FMCG manufacturing environment, you will play a key role in maintaining production machinery, minimising downtime and ensuring equipment operates reliably and efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out preventative and scheduled maintenance across production machinery and fixed plant.
- Diagnosing mechanical faults and breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
- Performing repairs, servicing and mechanical adjustments on manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability and overall plant performance.
- Responding to breakdowns and supporting production teams to maintain operational output.
- Assisting with equipment installations, modifications and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and following site safety procedures.
- Working collaboratively with production,
maintenance and operational teams to achieve daily targets.
- Ensuring all maintenance activities meet workplace health and safety and quality requirements.
About You
To be successful in this position, you will ideally bring:
- A Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade or equivalent trade qualification.
- Demonstrated maintenance fitting experience within an FMCG, food manufacturing or food production setting.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience maintaining production machinery and fixed plant.
- The ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and respond effectively to breakdowns.
- A proactive approach to preventative maintenance and continuous improvement.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety, hygiene and quality standards.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a production team.
Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is essential, as an understanding of production pressures, equipment reliability and minimising downtime will be important to your success.
