About the role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Chef to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will prepare and cook high-quality Northern Italian dishes, maintain food safety and presentation standards, manage stock and support the smooth running of daily kitchen operations.

Key responsibilities

- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, sanitation and kitchen safety regulations.

- Lead daily kitchen operations: prepare and cook meals to required standards, demonstrate strong cooking techniques, and oversee all dishes to maintain food quality, presentation and consistency before service.

- Design seasonal menus and manage ingredient sourcing, stock levels, ordering, inventory and food costs — balancing quality with cost-effectiveness, portion control, wastage minimization and preservation/freezing when necessary.

- Recruit, train, mentor and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.

- Communicate and collaborate with managers, kitchen staff and front-of-house teams to resolve food preparation concerns and ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction.





About you

- At least one year of full-time experience working as a chef.

- Certificate III and IV in Commercial Cookery, or equivalent qualification.

- Proven experience training, developing and mentoring kitchen teams.

- Strong communication skills and the ability to be highly organised and reliable in a busy environment.

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
