About the role

Aberdeen Paper is seeking an experienced, commercially driven National Sales Manager to lead our next phase of growth.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you'll take ownership of national sales performance, lead a team of four Business Development Managers and play a pivotal role in expanding our presence across Australia.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who thrives on winning new business, developing talented salespeople and delivering measurable results.

With an established customer base, a broad product portfolio and ambitious growth targets, you'll have the autonomy and support to make a genuine impact.

Based at our Sunshine West head office, the role involves regular interstate travel.

Key responsibilities

- Drive national growth: Develop and execute a sales strategy to deliver 10% year-on-year growth and expand our market presence.

- Lead from the front: Coach, mentor and develop a team of four Business Development Managers, establishing a high-performance, results-driven culture.

- Win major accounts: Personally identify, pursue and secure high-value national customers while strengthening strategic relationships.

- Own commercial performance: Lead negotiations, manage pricing strategies and drive profitable sales growth while protecting gross margins.

- Build sales discipline: Establish clear targets, robust pipeline management, accurate forecasting and meaningful performance reporting.

- Develop your team: Set clear expectations, monitor performance and provide the coaching and accountability needed to achieve results.

- Collaborate across the business: Partner with operations, procurement and customer service to deliver an outstanding customer experience.

- Be visible in the market: Travel nationally to support your team, engage key customers and identify new commercial opportunities.

About you





We're looking for a proven sales leader who combines strategic thinking with a genuine hunger to win business.

You'll bring:

- At least 5 years' experience in B2B sales leadership, ideally within FMCG, food packaging, distribution or industrial products.

- A demonstrated track record of delivering sales growth, securing major accounts and developing new business opportunities.

- Strong leadership skills, with experience motivating, coaching and holding geographically dispersed teams accountable.

- Commercial acumen and confidence managing pricing, margins, tenders and complex customer negotiations.

- A disciplined approach to sales planning, pipeline management, forecasting and performance measurement.

- Excellent communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills.

- A hands-on, proactive leadership style and willingness to travel nationally.
