About Umbrella Umbrella Entertainment is an Australian-owned film distribution and entertainment company with a long history in the local screen industry. The business acquires, distributes and manages an extensive catalogue of film and entertainment content across theatrical, home entertainment and digital platforms. Operating through multiple entities and brands across Australia and New Zealand, Umbrella works with filmmakers, studios, licensors, retailers and streaming platforms, managing content throughout its commercial lifecycle. The Opportunity We're looking for an experienced, highly capable Senior Accountant with exceptional Xero expertise to join our finance team. This is a hands-on role working across seven entities in Australia and New Zealand, partnering with an existing Senior Accountant to manage the full accounting cycle, financial reporting, cash flow and compliance. Xero experience is absolutely critical. We're looking for someone with a minimum of five years' extensive, hands-on Xero experience, ideally ten or more, who considers themselves a genuine Xero power user. You'll know how to get the most out of the platform, understand its functionality beyond everyday transaction processing, and be confident identifying opportunities to improve reporting, workflows, integrations and efficiency. Beyond your technical accounting expertise, you'll be commercially astute, analytical and comfortable working directly with senior management to provide meaningful financial insights.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage financial and management accounting across multiple business entities.
• Prepare monthly P&L;,



Balance Sheet and management reports, including detailed variance analysis.
• Take a hands-on role in month-end and year-end accounting, reconciliations and intercompany transactions.
• Manage cash flow, budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Oversee accounts payable, receivable, payroll and statutory compliance.
• Maximise the use of Xero, ensuring accurate financial data, effective reporting and streamlined accounting processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial systems through automation, integrations and technology.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with Australian and New Zealand accounting and taxation requirements.
• Work closely with senior management to provide financial analysis, commercial insights and recommendations.
• Collaborate with the existing Senior Accountant to ensure the finance function operates efficiently and meets deadlines. About You We're looking for a technically strong, commercially minded accountant who genuinely enjoys being hands-on. Essential

requirements:
• Minimum 5 years' extensive, hands-on Xero experience – 10+ years strongly preferred.
• Advanced Xero proficiency, including reconciliations, reporting, general ledger management and multi-entity accounting.
• 10+ years' experience in accounting and bookkeeping.




• Strong financial and management accounting experience.
• Experience managing accounts across multiple entities.
• Proven capability in cash-flow management, budgeting and forecasting.
• Sound knowledge of Australian taxation, payroll and statutory compliance.
• Solid analytical skills and the ability to explain financial information clearly.
• Excellent attention to detail, accountability and organisational skills.
• A highly technology-savvy mindset, with an interest in automation, digital tools and continuous improvement.
• The confidence and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively, navigate different working styles and constructively challenge ideas when appropriate. Highly regarded:
• CPA accreditation.
• Experience optimising Xero through integrations, automation and improved reporting.
• Experience in entertainment, media, distribution or similarly complex commercial environments. What Will Make You Stand Out?
