About The Role
John Deere is seeking a motivated and technically capable Customer Support Specialist – Forestry Technology & Customer Solutions to join the team in Melton, Victoria. This permanent, full-time role combines territory-based customer support with specialist responsibility for forestry technology, including simulator training platforms, machine connectivity, telematics, and data management solutions. You will work with forestry contractors, equipment owners, dealer partners, and internal teams across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. As a frontline technical resource and trusted advisor, you will help customers resolve equipment and technology challenges, improve machine uptime, and make effective use of digital solutions. The role offers a varied mix of customer visits, technical problem-solving, training, and support for connected machines. Qualifications You will bring experience in customer support, product support, service operations, or technical field support, together with strong mechanical aptitude and practical troubleshooting skills. You should be confident communicating with customers and colleagues, building professional relationships, and managing competing priorities independently.

Strong computer literacy and the ability to learn digital platforms are key. You must be willing to travel periodically within Australia. Experience in forestry, construction, agriculture, heavy equipment, or mobile machinery is desirable. Familiarity with telematics, machine connectivity, IoT technologies, wireless communications, data management, or digital monitoring platforms would be an advantage. Experience delivering training, supporting simulators or virtual training environments, or analyzing machine productivity and operational reports is also beneficial. Responsibilities In this role, you will build and maintain relationships with forestry contractors, equipment owners, and dealers. You will provide technical guidance and troubleshooting for forestry equipment and associated systems; conduct customer visits, machine inspections, and operational reviews; and support new machine introductions, installations, and customer training. You will help customers improve equipment uptime, productivity, and return on investment, while also assisting dealer personnel with technical support and training. You will manage forestry simulator programs and operator training initiatives, coordinate simulator deployments, updates, maintenance, and user support, and deliver training sessions for customers, dealers,

and internal personnel. You will monitor simulator performance and identify opportunities to improve training outcomes. You will also support machine connectivity systems, telematics platforms, and digital service tools. This includes helping customers configure systems, establish connectivity, and transfer machine data; using operational and telematics information to identify opportunities for better fleet utilization; and supporting remote diagnostics. You will collaborate with internal technical teams to resolve software and connectivity issues and encourage adoption of connected services and precision forestry solutions. Benefits John Deere offers competitive remuneration and a permanent, full-time opportunity. A tool-of-trade vehicle is provided in accordance with company policy. You will have access to ongoing training and professional development, career opportunities within Waratah and the broader John Deere organisation, and the chance to build your expertise with advanced forestry equipment and digital technologies. The company also supports a friendly and inclusive culture, employee wellbeing and social initiatives, and health and safety programs. Equal Opportunity John Deere is committed to providing an inclusive workplace where people are treated with respect and can contribute their skills and experience. Applicants must hold appropriate work authorisation for Australia before applying. If you are passionate about customer support, forestry operations, and technology, please submit your resume and cover letter outlining your relevant experience and interest in the role.
