Job Description
The Opportunity Join Icon Water as the Manager
- Procurement and Contracts and lead the strategic direction of procurement and contract management across the organisation. Reporting to the Head of Financial Performance and Commercial , you will provide expert commercial leadership, oversee complex procurement activities and ensure the effective governance of high-value contracts that support the delivery of essential services to the Canberra community. This is a highly influential leadership role responsible for driving procurement excellence, contract performance and value-for-money outcomes across the business. You will lead a professional team, partner with senior leaders and stakeholders, and play a key role in supporting major infrastructure programs,



strategic sourcing initiatives and long-term commercial arrangements. Through continuous improvement, innovation and strong governance, you will help shape Icon Water's procurement and commercial capability for the future. What You Will Bring You are a strategic and commercially astute leader with extensive experience in procurement, contract management and stakeholder engagement. You have a proven ability to navigate complex commercial environments, influence senior decisionmakers and deliver practical solutions that balance value, risk and operational outcomes. With strong leadership capability, you foster high-performing teams, build trusted relationships and drive continuous improvement across people, processes and systems. Success in This Role Will Be Supported By
• Extensive experience leading procurement and contract management functions in a complex, asset-intensive environment.
• Strong expertise in strategic sourcing, procurement governance, probity and commercial risk management.
• Demonstrated experience managing major infrastructure, construction or professional services contracts and commercial arrangements.
• Experience developing and implementing procurement and contract management frameworks, policies and systems.
• Proven ability to provide commercially focused advice to senior leaders and stakeholders.
• Strong leadership experience, including coaching,



mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
• Well-developed understanding of governance, compliance and value-for-money principles.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in law, management, commerce, procurement, business, finance or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. Why Join Icon Water?
