Join a South Australian Icon in Elizabeth South as a Quality Control Officer. SAFCOL Australia and the South Australian Gourmet Food Company are leading manufacturers & marketers of quality food products. From canned seafood and cat food to soups, stocks and baby food. Our well-known brands such as Safcol, South Australian Gourmet Food Company, Snappy Tom, Gourmet Delights and Ultimates along with many private label products are supplied to major supermarkets and retail outlets across Australia. Reporting to the Quality Manager you will be a crucial member of the technical team, responsible for supporting a positive food safety culture by exercising good manufacturing practises, initiatives and actions in line with company policies to achieve quality targets. Assist the Quality Manager with product monitoring assessments as part of the Safcol Australian Food Safety & Quality System. Your will be responsible for:
• Conduct all pre-production start-up checks, complete and document all quality checks undertaken prior to starting the production line.
• Conduct all scheduled QC checks throughout the day and record on the appropriate form.
• Conduct Daily Sanitation Checks, report on and initiate corrective action where necessary.
• Liaise with Production Staff as necessary on quality issues.
• Immediately report any quality and food safety issues to the Quality Manager.




• Check incoming goods and record all details on the appropriate forms.
• Use the Product Hold Register and NCR/CAR Register, ensuring product hold and product release details are promptly recorded and communicated to all parties concerned.
• Fill in Supplier NCR notification forms for product outside of specification, and pass on to the Quality Manager for despatch.
• Conduct GMP checks as required and assist in maintaining and improving GMP procedures
• Conduct checks on the Pest control Program as necessary. To be successful in this role you will have:
• Tertiary qualifications in Food Technology or Science related degree are highly desirable.
• Sound knowledge and understanding of technical aspects of food processing.
• Positive understanding of HACCP, SQF, Organic, Dairy Safe, AQIS (DAFF) & retailer standards (Coles / Woolworths / Aldi)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise and work effectively under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication and computer skills. What we will do for you:
