With over 20 years of experience specialising in access equipment, forklifts, earthmoving machinery We are seeking a reliable, organised and motivated Hire Controller to join our team.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a busy environment, delivering excellent customer service and ensuring daily operations run smoothly and efficiently.
About the role
You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day hire operations, dealing directly with customers and coordinating equipment deliveries and collections.
Key responsibilities
- Answer customer calls, emails and general enquiries promptly and professionally.
- Prepare quotes and manage equipment hire bookings.
- Coordinate equipment availability, deliveries and collections.
- Schedule and coordinate the transport team to ensure efficient operations.
- Maintain accurate hire contracts, customer records and equipment information.
- Follow up on quotes, bookings and outstanding customer requirements.
- Provide exceptional customer service and resolve day-to-day issues in a timely manner.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, drivers and suppliers.
- Work closely with the transport and operations teams to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Assist with general administration and other operational tasks as required.
About you
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- The ability to work efficiently and remain organised in a fast-paced environment.
- Confidence communicating with customers over the phone and via email.
- Positive computer skills and strong administrative capabilities.
- Familiarity with equipment hire or a similar service-oriented industry.
- A practical, reliable and solutions-focused approach to your work.
- A positive, proactive and team-oriented attitude.
- The willingness to learn, adapt and take on new challenges.
- The ability to prioritise competing tasks and work well under pressure.
- Previous experience as a Hire Controller, or within the equipment hire, construction, transport or a similar industry, will be highly regarded.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys a busy workplace, dealing with customers and keeping operations running smoothly.
Pay: $78,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
