Key Responsibilities

- Dishwashing & Sanitation: Efficiently wash, sanitise, and correctly store all cutlery, crockery, glassware, and kitchen utensils using the commercial dishwasher.
- Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen throughout the day, including washing pots, pans, and large cooking equipment for the grill and larder sections.
- Waste Management: Clear kitchen bins regularly, sort recycling, and ensure waste disposal areas are kept tidy and compliant with center regulations.
- Food Preparation: Assist the kitchen team with basic daily prep work (e.g., peeling vegetables, portioning ingredients, and basic mise-en-place) as directed by the Chef.
- Stock & Storage: Assist with receiving stock deliveries, ensuring items are rotated correctly (FIFO) and stored in the appropriate walk-in coolrooms, freezers, or dry pantries.
- End-of-Day Cleaning: Execute cleaning duties at the end of trade.

Requirements

- Experience: Previous experience as a Kitchen Hand or Dishwasher in a busy cafe, restaurant,



or commercial kitchen is highly regarded, but a strong work ethic is most important.
- Stamina & Speed: Physical fitness and agility to stand for long periods, lift heavy stock boxes, and work quickly during peak breakfast and lunch rushes.
- Attention to Detail: A high standard of personal hygiene and a keen eye for cleanliness to maintain a safe working setting.
- Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and available to work a flexible roster, including weekends.
- Teamwork: A positive, cooperative attitude with the ability to follow instructions clearly and support the cooks and floor staff.
