Global Institute of Education is looking for qualified driver trainers to join our growing team. We deliver nationally recognised driver training courses across both car and heavy vehicle classes, and we're expanding our trainer pool to support that growth.
Courses you could be delivering
- TLI41225 Certificate IV in Motor Vehicle Driver Training — Car Specialisation
- TLI41225 Certificate IV in Motor Vehicle Driver Training — Heavy Vehicle Specialisation
- Standalone licence courses: LR, MR, HR, HC, and MC (Licence to Drive units)
You don't need to be accredited across every class to apply — we're hiring trainers for individual classes as well as trainers who can cover multiple. Tell us in your application which class(es) you're currently accredited for.
What you'll be doing
- Delivering face-to-face classroom sessions and 1:1 practical driving/instructional training
- Assessing candidates against nationally recognised training requirements
- Keeping accurate training and assessment records
- Working with a small class size (max 5 candidates per batch) so you can actually give people your attention
What you'll need
- A current driver licence for the class(es) you'll be training — held continuously for at least 1 year before you apply. (Car, LR, MR, HR, HC, and/or MC — whichever you're applying for.)
- Current TMR Driver Trainer Accreditation for that same class. Note:
accreditation is issued per class, so if you're HR-accredited but not HC-accredited, you can train HR but not HC. Must be current — these are renewed annually.
- A clean police and traffic history — we'll run a National Police History Check and a Traffic History Check through TMR as part of onboarding. (If your licence has ever been downgraded from open to probationary, you'll need to have held an open licence again for 12 months before you're eligible.)
- A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122, or equivalent).
- Current First Aid certificate (HLTAID011 — Provide First Aid).
- Recent industry experience — some hands-on driver training or transport industry experience within the last 12 months.
Good to have (not essential)
- If you're supplying your own vehicle for car-class training, it'll need dual controls fitted by a qualified installer.
- Accreditation across more than one class — the more classes you cover, the more shifts/courses we can offer you.
Why train with us
Small class sizes (max 5 candidates) mean genuine one-on-one training time, not a packed roster. Competitive pay aligns with industry standards. Casual and part time positions available, with flexible scheduling built around our timetable — most sessions run Monday to Friday.
