Round Bird Food & Wine Merchants is an iconic, long standing café situated at the gateway to the beautiful Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges. We are well renowned both locally and afar for the high quality food and service that we provide. Our small, esteemed venue has been featured in the Age, the Herald Sun, Qantas epiqure, Yarra Ranges Lifestyle magazine, and Delicious magazine to name a few.
Our café makes everything in house, and our small but skilled team in the kitchen are looking for one more person to help them continue producing high quality meals.
As a cook/cafe apprentice your role contributes to the timely fulfilment of our production targets, while strictly adhering to high Food Safety.
A few must haves for this role include:
- Effective team player that shows respect to co-workers and managers
- Advanced problem-solving skills and ability to be resourceful.
About the role
Reporting to our Head chef, you will be responsible for kitchen food prep, cooking of meals as directed by chefs,
cleaning and kitchen hygiene tasks as required.
The general responsibilities of the role include:
- Prep food items as per directions of the head chef
- Assist with cooking and plating meals as per directions of the head chef
- Washing of dishes and food prep equipment
- Any other duties as required by the Head Chef and Front of House Manager
